How to Register
To register to vote in Texas, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a resident of the county where you submit the application
- Be at least 17 years and 10 months old (you must be 18 to vote)
- Not be a convicted felon (unless sentence completed, including probation/parole)
- Not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court

Texas law requires voters to present one of the following forms of photo ID:
- Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
- Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
- United States Military Identification Card containing the person's photograph
- United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person's photograph
- United States Passport (book or card)
